In Pokémon battles, players must devise a good strategy based on the types on their team, with certain types being more useful than others.
Battling through a region’s Gym Leaders can be difficult for Pokémon players, particularly if their team lacks the correct Pokémon. Although some Pokémon are regarded as less powerful, such as Bug, Grass, or Normal, there are others that players have been known to covet due to their powerful move-sets. Many people seem to believe that three of the 18 different types available in Pokémon are the most useful.
And those that may not want to consider vulnerabilities and resistances, powering through a Pokémon game’s region with an overpowered Charizard is a popular strategy. With moves like Flamethrower and Fire Blast, Fire-type Pokémon have a history of being fairly powerful. The only thing the player will have to expect is a gym that specializes in Water Pokémon if the Pokémon is at a high enough level.
When Pokémon X and Y were released in 2013, they added a new type. Fairy Pokémon is added as a way to complement Dragon and Dark-type Pokémon from previous games, but they have become a mixed blessing. The Fairy-type, on the other hand, can be overpowered due to its superior effectiveness against Dragon, Dark, and Fighting Pokémon. Only Poison and Steel are vulnerable to Fairy-types, but that does not seem to be enough to match Fairy Pokémon, particularly as dual typing makes those vulnerabilities even less of a disadvantage.
With Fairy, Pokémon Attempted To Check Overpowered Dragon-Types
Since the beginning of the Pokémon games, dragon-type Pokémon have been extremely powerful. Since most Dragon-type Pokémon are dual-typed and have moves like Outrage and Dragon Tail, they have been reserved as some of the most challenging Gym fight opponents and Elite Four competitions in the Pokémon games. Despite the inclusion of the Fairy-type to aid players in strategizing for these encounters, the anime and recent games like Sword and Shield continue to use Dragon-type supremacy as a measure of true dominance.
While it might appear that loading a Pokémon player’s party with the game’s most powerful types is the only way to obliterate whatever obstacles they face, the finest Pokémon teams are those that provide a solid mix among various types. Strong forms like Dragon, Fairy, and Fire can be mixed and matched with Bug, Water, Electric, or Ground to create a well-balanced squad that can take on Gym challenges and trainer fights while exploring all of the game’s regions.
