Microsoft’s Xbox Series X|S has had an exciting start to the year. Although the console hasn’t had many blockbuster exclusives, there have been a variety of successful third-party games to make it exciting in 2021.
In terms of new releases, February was a little light, but January saw the debut of Bloober Team’s The Medium and IO Interactive’s Hitman 3. We have a combination of next-gen re-releases and intriguing indie games in store for March.
The first week of the month is relatively calm, with only Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition coming. The middle of the month sees the introduction of next-gen versions of Crash Bandicoot 4 and Marvel’s Avengers.
Upon its initial release, the latter, of course, received mixed reviews. Although the gameplay and fighting were enjoyable, the lack of substantive content early on grew boring. Crystal Dynamics has only released one major plot expansion so far, Operation: Kate Bishop – Taking A.I.M., which was released in December. Kate Bishop was added in the free DLC, which was the first of a two-part Hawkeye expansion. It also contained a six-mission campaign narrative. The next major update, Operation: Hawkeye – Future Imperfect, will be released on March 18 alongside the Xbox Series X edition of Marvel’s Avengers, which will feature Clint Barton and his story campaign.
It Takes Two, an action-adventure from Hazelight Studios, is one of the most intriguing titles to look forward to in March. This game, like Hazelight’s EA Originals debut title, A Way Out, emphasizes co-op multiplayer. In reality, there is no single-player mode; you must play online or in split-screen mode locally.
Josef Fares, the founder of Hazelight, has a way of exaggerating the value of his studio’s games, but they typically live up to the hype. It Takes Two is a platforming action-adventure game that incorporates gameplay and plot.
Another interesting title is Balan Wonderworld. It’s a spectacular 3D action-platformer set in a fantastical world full of bright colors, fantasy elements, and a heavy concentration on musical performance.
In March 2021, see what else is coming to Microsoft’s Xbox Series X|S.
Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition – March 4 Monster Energy Supercross: The Official Videogame 4 – March 11 Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time – March 12 Samurai Shodown – March 16 Marvel’s Avengers – March 18 Balan Wonderworld March 26 It Takes Two – March 26 Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 – March 26
