- On October 5th, Windows 11 gets launched, with Android app compatibility following shortly after.
Eventually, Windows 11 will supports the installation and usage of Android apps. This feature is quite different from the Windows 10 method for Android apps that requires an Android smartphone linked to them. There will be no need for any emulation software with Windows 11.
Once the feature goes live, this article will guide you through the steps for downloading, installing, and running Android apps on Windows 11 devices.
How Do I Get Android Apps on Windows 11 Laptop?
The Microsoft Store app store allows you to download and install Android apps on Windows 11 laptops, desktops, and tablets. The feature requires no emulator or other program to install Android apps because it’s pre-installed into the Windows 11 operating system.
A connection to the Amazon Appstore from within the Microsoft Store app makes this feature feasible. To purchase and download an Android app on a Windows 11 device, you’ll need an Amazon account.
- Open the Start menu in Windows 11.
- Select and Launch Microsoft Store.
- Search the Microsoft Store for the Android app you’d like to install on your Windows 11 device.
- Select the name or icon of the Android app.
- To download and install the Android app, choose “Get from Amazon Appstore”.
How Do I Get Android Apps to Run on My Pc?
You can launch and use an Android app the same way you would a Windows app after installing it on your Windows 11 PC or tablet.

Many of Google’s first-party apps, such as Google Maps, Google Photos, and Google Drive, aren’t available in the Amazon Appstore, but they all have Windows versions (so you won’t need the Android version).
You may use a web browser to access the vast majority of Google’s products on Windows 11. There is no need to download any extra apps.
When are Android Apps going to launch on Windows 11?
On October 5th, 2021, the Windows 11 operating system will be released to the general public. Android app support will not be available at launch, but it will be accessible for testing with Windows Insiders in late 2021.
You can join the Windows Insiders program, accessible to all Windows users if you want to try Android applications on Windows 11 before it is released to the general public. To sign up, go to Settings and choose Windows Update. In August 2021, Microsoft’s Aaron Woodman said on his blog,
“We look forward to continuing our journey to bring Android apps to Windows 11 and the Microsoft Store through our collaboration with Amazon and Intel; this will start with a preview for Windows Insiders over the coming months.”
No official launch date for Android apps on Windows 11 had been revealed as of September 2021, however, the feature is expected to appear in late 2021 or early 2022.
